Accordian is an addictive solitaire card game with an easy-to-use interface and simple rules.
Cards are dealt in a row from left to right. Whenever a card matches its immediate neighbor to the left, or matches the card two away to the left, it may be moved onto that card. Cards match if they are of the same suit or same rank. The selection of the first card is highlighted and a matching card will be removed automatically when clicked upon. A first card may be de-selected by reclicking, the high-lighting will disappear. After making a move, look to see if it has made additional moves possible. The game is won if the pack of cards is reduced to one pile.
Remember to click on the card you want to move, then release the mouse button and click again on the card you wish to move it onto. A click and drag will not work. As you play the deck will shrink until the last card is dealt at which time the deck will disappear. Your best ten scores are sorted and kept in the score box.
The best strategy seems to be to keep in mind that you can’t win the game if you lock yourself out of a suit. This is easy to do if you don’t watch the cards to the right while you move cards to the left. It is fairly easy to get down to less than ten cards, but when you are at that point, one card can keep you from winning because it is the only card of that suit left, and there is no card of the same rank to play it on. My best game so far has been two cards left. If you get all the cards in one stack, you win.
